How are rest periods taken into account?

FollowMe checks EASA rest periods for both parties. The shifts shown to you should therefore work for both you and your swap partner.

What FollowMe checks #

For every match, FollowMe calculates both rosters as if the swap had already occurred:

  • EASA Rest Periods: Before and after the swapped shift, both parties retain sufficient rest periods according to EASA requirements.
  • No Overlaps: The swapped shift does not conflict with any other duty for either party.

Shifts that do not pass one of these checks will not even appear in the match list.

Why EASA and not my airline’s rules? #

Working conditions vary for every airline, and FollowMe doesn’t know all of them. That’s why FollowMe checks EASA requirements, which apply to everyone. The app does not consider stricter rules from your airline or collective bargaining agreement. Ultimately, Crew Control makes the binding decision.

If you want to take a closer look, tap Details on a match. You’ll see the shift with the duty before and after it.
